Youth Remodeling Career Day is the most important “mission day” of the year for PRO New England.

We work to inspire high school students to pursue a career in remodeling, and to provide experiences related to the diverse career opportunities available.

Through interactive, experiential activity stations, students have hands-on experiences with various tools at interactive stations hosted by PRO New England members.

Students also connect with businesses that may offer co-op or internship experiences during their construction program education.

How to get involved for 2026:

• Planning the Day: PRO Members on the planning committee are meeting monthly to design an interactive day for >500 students.
• Volunteer before, during or after: More than 100 volunteers make the day happen (and have a lot of fun along the way). Here’s our volunteer sign up sheet  or you can email Joanne Roy at joanne@pro-ne.org for more information.
• Host an Activity/Booth: You can host an activity you have in mind or select from 2026 YRCD Booth Host Ideas, or brainstorm with our team.

What the students say about Youth Remodeling Career Day:

• “I like all of the hands-on experience and how we got to do most of the stuff that would most likely happen on a job site.”
• “The most valuable was learning about the different types of tools because it was focused on the field of work I want.”
• “I liked how they gave us the option of doing mock interviews to help us in the future.”
• “I learned a lot about stuff that I wouldn’t have learned in my shop and I got to do fun events to show off my skills.”

What the teachers and chaperones say about Youth Remodeling Career Day:

• “I liked the fact that the majority of the event was very hands-on for the students. Most events are a ‘view only’ type.”
• “There were a lot of hands-on activities with incentives for the students to participate.  The presenters worked very well with the students and were very approachable.”

Held at the Bolton Fairgrounds, students will have the opportunity to:

PRO New England members offer mock interviews to help students prepare for the job market. There are contests and learning sessions offered throughout the day, along with a box lunch.
