On Tuesday, October 16th, students and teachers from 17 schools around Massachusetts and Rhode Island attended the third annual Youth Remodeling Career Day. Nearly 500 students attended the event and participated in a variety of activities designed to highlight the range of careers and activities associated with the remodeling industry.
The event features a variety of hands on, interactive building activities in the barns. Students learned skills like stair building, installing siding with event sponsor James Hardie, installing windows, laying shingles, floor sanding with sponsor C & R Flooring, and much more.
Out on the field, the students get to learn more including techniques for mold remediation, and a glimpse of the latest products from sponsor Triangle Tube.
In the tented area, NARI members showcase careers in the industry with educational booths highlighting design, architecture, and more.
Always popular are the mini mock-interviews where students have the chance to meet with business owners to refine their interview skills and learn more about the industry.
