Serving the Community

The Professional Remodeling Organization of New England believes in being involved in the community. Through PRO New England, our members work with area non-profits making a difference in the lives of those in need. Here are a few of the partnerships that we have developed. Interested in partnering with PRO New England? Reach out to admin@pro-ne.org today!

Toys for Tots

PRO New England in connection with Mark One, Inc. is proud to be a part of the Toys for Tots collection every year at our December meeting. We believe in the stated goal of the program that “through the gift of a new toy, help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children.”

The Room to Dream Foundation

Ever been sick enough that you had to stay home for the day? It’s boring. Lonely. And frustrating. Now imagine what it’s like to cope with a long-term illness. Especially if you were a child. The Room to Dream Foundation recognizes how a sick child can feel. Their focus is to make chronically ill, inner-city, or suburban children feel special and improve their quality of life by transforming their environments.

Rebuilding Together

PRO New England members gathered at a home in Roxbury to help a woman who has dedicated herself to helping others through her work with the YMCA, Tufts Medical Center, and her church. Nearly a dozen members worked alongside students from Newton North High School and Medford Vocational Technical High School on a Saturday to update the home with a new bulkhead and back door, as well as fresh paint and updated appliances. These changes will allow her to safely enjoy continuing to live in her community.

Habitat for Humanity

PRO New England members were back at it to help with Habitat for Humanity’s Build Days in Salisbury. With 18 PRO New England member companies represented, members worked across two weekends to help with roofing and framing work on a home under construction for a family in need. Special thanks to Bob Williams of Star Construction that took the lead in coordinating the PRO New England member involvement in the project.

Friends of Abby Mac

PRO New England members remodeled Abby MacCurtain’s home to accommodate her wheelchair. Abby has a genetic mitochondrial condition known as Leigh’s Syndrome. Her home needed some significant modifications, including adding a ramp, modifying the bathroom, and opening up the dining room to better accommodate her wheelchair as well as creating a room for her to receive her medical care.

Tool Donation to Durfee High School

Special thanks to PRO New England and Tool Box Buzz for their donation of tools to the CVTE Department at Durfee High School. Our staff and students appreciate what you’ve done for our construction program. Thank you!
