The fall at EM NARI is off to a great start. September started with a presentation by local inspectors and a code review seminar organized by our Education and Programs Committee. At the end of September, members and friends enjoyed a day of golf at Shaker Hills. Special thanks to CPS HVAC, Pella Windows and Doors, and Needham Bank for their support of our tournament. Also important to mention are Alpine Environmental and Dovercraft, Inc. who supported our on-course efforts to raise funds for our EM NARI scholarship program. We generated $2,600 that day in support. Lastly, I would like to thank Bill Farnsworth, MCR, of Custom Contracting, Inc. Bill has led the planning of the tournament for years. His dedication to the event and to EM NARI is remarkable and we continue to be so grateful to have him involved.
October kicked off with an event at Divine Stoneworks in Ashland and featured our Youth Remodeling Career Day event. This year we have a record number of students attending the career day. We were excited to host them, connect with the local career and vocational technical education schools in the area, and showcase the work of our industry to these future workers!
Next month we will launch our inaugural Women in Remodeling event. Our hope is to showcase the incredible local leaders we have and to support and inspire women in the industry. I hope you will join us for this special event on November 13th at Wellesley College.
Planning is nearly complete for 2019! Early in the year we will once again present The Remodelers Conference – a full day of education for contractors. The educational event is complemented by our vendor trade show. Last year our vendors found participating in the show valuable and we encourage you to secure your booth early. Mark your calendar for Friday, February 8th, 2019 at the Best Western in Marlborough MA. Vendor trade show booths are on sale now and conference registration will open next month. Contact Michelle at admin@pro-ne.org to secure your booth.
At EM NARI, our mission is to continually find new ways to connect our members and provide the education and information they need to grow their business. If you haven’t been to an event recently, I encourage to you carve out some time to join us. And, we are always looking for members to serve on our committees. Right now we have openings on our Education/Programs Committee and our Government Affairs Committee. Committee members find that they get even more value from their NARI membership and develop lasting connections to other members in the group. Contact me or Michelle if you are interested in learning more about a committee.
Very soon, the 2019 Corporate Sponsorship packages will be open. You might be surprised to learn that your support of our chapter throughout the year can be bundled in one upfront payment that will give you even more exposure. Michelle can offer you a quick analysis of your involvement in NARI this past year to determine if a corporate sponsorship might be a fit.
Enjoy the remainder of the fall and I look forward to seeing you at an event soon!
