All speakers and sessions in The Remodelers Conference are in the final phases of our annual remodeling process to meet the latest code requirements and design standards for 2026. By January 9th, we should have completed our punch list, and we might beat that schedule.
If you have a MA CSL license, you will receive CEU credits for the sessions you attend. Please be sure to sign in for each session and provide your CSL#.
Morning sessions start at 7:00 a.m. and run until 11:30 a.m. Afternoon sessions start at 1:15 p.m. and run until 3:30 p.m.

Women in Residential Remodeling Workshop (WiRR)
Jean Papagni
Workshop: Feminine Energy Is Your Superpower – Exploring the gifts of feminine energy (present in all genders!) to thrive and succeed.
This experiential workshop invites you to reconnect with the feminine energy (present in all genders) that sustains strength, resilience, and leadership in demanding environments. Through guided embodiment practices, a powerful group constellation experience, and restorative sound healing, participants will feel the difference between constant effort and supported presence. The session is interactive, grounded, and accessible—no sharing or prior experience required. Participants will leave feeling centered, resourced, and more connected to themselves and one another, with practical insights they can carry back into work and life.

Phil Baldwin, CPS Heating & Cooling
Phil Baldwin graduated from Henry Abbott Technical Vocational High School in 1992, where he studied HVAC. Since then, he has built his career through hands-on training and continuous learning in the field. His natural curiosity and desire to understand the “why” behind system performance have led him to become highly effective at helping both homeowners and building owners address their HVAC needs.
Phil has been an active member of PRO New England (previously NARI) for over 15 years and is also a member of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), which provides ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
Phil began working for CPS Heating and Cooling in 1993 and, in 2006, purchased the company from its original owner, continuing its legacy of quality products and services.
Bobby de Sousa, Energy Code Specialist, Performance Systems Development
Bobby de Sousa is a lifelong Massachusetts resident and a Program Manager with the Energy Codes Services team at Performance Systems Development (PSD). His love for nature and adventure sports coupled with his almost decade-long experience with a New England based weatherization company has fostered his desire to help combat climate change and preserve the natural world.
While working in the weatherization industry, Bobby received certifications from the Building Performance Institute (BPI) and RESNET. During the certification process, he discovered a genuine interest in building science. In 2018, Bobby joined PSD as an Energy Code Specialist and worked directly on the Mass Save CSCS program where he prepared and delivered energy code trainings and support and managed an energy code hotline.
After the birth of his son in 2020, he took a three-year hiatus to be a stay-at-home-dad. In April of 2024 he rejoined the PSD team as a Program Manager and looks forward to continuing the important work of achieving a more sustainable future.
William Forte, Commissioner, City of Brockton
William (Bill) Forte serves as the Building Commissioner for the City of Brockton. He has over 25 years in the construction industry as a General Contractor (15 years), Building Commissioner (City of Waltham, 8 years) and Code Enforcement Officer in the City of Newton.
Bill will provide updates on the latest Housing Bill from Governor Healy and the changes to the Zoning Act M.G.L. Chapter 40A, which allowings accessory dwelling units by-right in single family zones. He will provide a general overview of the State Building Code requirements for ADU’s, and a brief overview of the recently adopted 10th Edition of the State Building Code.
Doug Howard, Remodelers Advantage
Doug Howard, Director of Consulting for Remodelers Advantage, is a leading authority on small business strategy specializing in the remodeling industry. He has helped several hundred remodeling companies to develop and implement strategies to manage growth.
For more than 30 years, Doug has worked with owners of growing businesses to help them overcome challenges and develop strategies for successfully navigating growth. He does this through training, webinars, writing, facilitated meetings and one-on-one consulting.
Doug is known for his entertaining yet informative approach to business ideas and strategies. He likes to bring complex business concepts into clarity with real life stories and recognizable examples. He has been a speaker at IBS, NAHB, NARI, Remodelers Advantage Summit and many industry individual chapter organizations.
Now, he specializes in strategic planning, financing assistance, LEAN process improvement, profit enhancement and growth strategies for home remodeling companies across the US and Canada.
Doug is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business.
Peter Lawton, LeadSMART Training Solutions
Peter had his first lead safe training in 1997 while operating his design/build remodeling firm in the greater Boston area. Trained as a cabinetmaker, his love of residential remodeling became his specialty in the design/build field of residential construction.
Today, he is the founder and senior principal trainer for LeadSMART Training Solutions which trains contractors in areas of lead remodeling, OSHA safety standards, respirator use.
Parker Safety Group, is our sister safety company where Peter provides safety consulting, company safety programs, job site inspections, lead renovation supplies and OSHA informal hearing representations.
Peter’s professional certificates/licenses are: 1) CSHO in Construction (Certified Safety and Health Official); 2) PSSHF in Construction and General Industry (to work with municipalities); 3) MA CSL licensee; 4) Senior Principal Trainer in lead paint work 5) OSHA Approved Outreach Trainer (OSHA 10 & 30).
He works with individual firms who lack the resources for a full time safety officer yet are committed to providing a safe work environment for their crew.

Shawn McCadden
Shawn McCadden is a retired remodeling industry speaker and remodeling business consultant. During his career Shawn concentrated on working with aspiring remodelers, helping them discover, identify and achieve their professional and personal goals. Shawn’s goal as a business coach for remodelers, working with business owners and their employees, was to help them see their opportunities, help them learn how to consistently accomplish their goals and develop the motivation they needed to be accountable for their own success.
Throughout his career Shawn spoke frequently at industry conferences and trade events, including JLC LIVE and The Remodeling Show, consulted with remodeling companies and the supply chain, and still today writes a monthly column for Qualified Remodeler Magazine.
