In July staff and board representatives from NARI chapters around the country convened in Chicago to hear updates about the association, learn best practices for growing chapters, and share new ideas.
The conference kicked off with updates about NARI national from Vice President, Doug King and CEO, David Pekel. They shared that NARI has adopted an aggressive workplan for the 2019-20 fiscal year that focuses on membership growth and value. They shared that NARI is in the process of launching two websites – the member website www.nari.org and the consumer focused website www.remodelingdoneright.com. With the new focus on member value and growth, there is a push for an increase in data about our members – to better understand the different segments of our membership and the demographics. This information will help NARI better meet the needs of all members.
The day also featured an engaging talk by Peggy Hoffman of Mariner Management. She offered insights into the changing ways that members engage with chapters. And, she provided great suggestions for new ways to grow participation among members locally.
One of the most valuable parts of the program is learning about the great things happening at other NARI chapters across the country. We heard about some great new events, membership efforts, workforce development activities, and marketing initiatives.
We are excited to bring back the information and ideas from the meeting to share with our local committees to evaluate ways we can improve our efforts at EM NARI. More to come!
